Direct Support Professional - Various Areas within Utah

RISE is looking for potential employees with a passion for supporting people with disabilities. Direct Support Professionals work in a variety of settings with people that range from young adults to elderly adults.  Services provided include budgeting, medical support, personal hygiene, transportation, social activities, and other life skills. Supports may range from a few hours a month to 24 hours a day. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to make a difference and needing a flexible schedule. Benefits available to eligible employees. 

 

DSP Job Functions:
· Provide personal care (depending on person)
· Assist with medications as needed
· Ensure that a clean and safe environment is maintained
· Schedule and assist with completion of activities and skills development goals
· Reliably report to work on time and as scheduled
· Attend staff meetings and other mandatory training as required by RISE
· Notify management of changes with individuals
· Act as a role model in using appropriate language, dress, table manners, respect, and other behavior as needed
· Promote the rights of people receiving support, and contribute to an environment that is free of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation 

 

DSP Qualifications:
· Must be 18 or older
· Must have a valid ID and be able to pass a background screening
· Interest in serving others and working with people with disabilities
· Committed to working with a team; strong communication skills
· Ability to problem solve and work independently
· Experience and/or education in developmental disabilities or related field is preferred but not required

Professional Parent (Foster Parent)

Make between $30-$70 per day + Room & Board for being a host parent for adults and children with developmental disabilities.  Upon placement, that child or adult will need support with daily living/supervision skills, medical care, education/work needs, and social/behavioral/emotional developmental skills.  Must have insured vehicle for transportation,  complete required trainings (FA, CPR, SOAR), have a clean and cleared driving record, TB test, and Background check.  Your home must pass certification.  Contact us for more information or to speak to one of our current Professional Parents to see how wonderful and easy this job is!

 

Also needed: Temporary Professional Parent homes for short-term placements/relief days.  Work with our permanent providers for a few days to a few weeks' time on an as-needed basis.  Must pass certification requirements listed above.

NOTE: Summer Program runs from June 1st through the middle of August, approximately 30 hours a week Mon thru Fri. Staff must be able to commit for the entire summer, complete all required trainings before the program begins, and have reliable transportation.  This is a temporary/seasonal position.
