Direct Support Professionals- La Grande

Our purpose is to create opportunities for and with the people we serve and with the men and women who have chosen to work in this field.

We have a network of Direct Support Professionals working with people with disabilities and their families to help create and sustain the life they want to live. This includes people supporting people in their daily living, providing companionship, proctor parenting, accompanying to community events, teaching skills, and much more. People receive support from a few hours a month to 24 hours a day. Our team also includes outstanding specialists who provide support with behavior, mental health, speech and communication, counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medical needs. 

RISE is seeking both Full-time and Part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work with children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities.

Duties include:
·  Assist with social and community activities
·  Schedule and ensure completion of activities and skills development goals
·  Notify management of changes with individuals
·  Provide personal care (depending on person)
·  Assist with medications as needed

DSP requirements:
·  Interest in serving others and working with people with disabilities
·  Committed to working with a team, strong communication skills
·  Ability to problem solve and work independently
·  Willingness to learn and develop skills
·  Valid I.D and be able to pass a background screening
·  Ability to work weekends and night as scheduled

Proctor Parents- Now Recruiting

Become a Proctor Parent!

This is a great opportunity for families looking for an alternative job* at home by being a host parent for children with developmental disabilities.  Upon placement, that child will need support with daily living/supervision skills, medical care, education needs, and social/behavioral/emotional developmental skills. 

With low case loads, our coordinators are able to be a great support for parents. RISE will provide training prior to placement and only place a child that is a great match for your home and family.  Your home must pass state certification; most requirements are implemented for the safety of the child.  Contact us for more information or to speak to one of our current Proctor Parents to see how wonderful and how rewarding proctor parenting can be!

Also needed are Respite Providers:  Needed for short-term placements/relief days for permanent providers for 24 hours to a few weeks time at a daily rate of $90 per day*.  On an as-needed basis.  Must pass certification requirements listed above.

*This is a contracted position, not an employment opening. A monthly rate will be paid based on the contract between RISE and the Proctor Family.

Proctor Care DSP's- Salem, Dalles, Philomath & Eugene!

RISE is looking for potential employees with a passion for supporting people with disabilities. This Direct Support Professional position works in a Proctor Family setting.  Services provided to the children in our Proctor Families include transportation, social activities, and other life skills and goals. Supports may range from a few hours a month to 20 hours a week while the children are in school. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to make a difference and needing a flexible schedule. $9/hr to start with an opportunity for an increase after 90-day evaluation.


DSP Job Functions:
· Provide personal care (depending on person)
· Assist with medications as needed
· Ensure that a clean and safe environment is maintained
· Schedule and assist with completion of activities and skills development goals
· Reliably report to work on time and as scheduled
· Notify management of changes with individuals
· Act as a role model in using appropriate language, dress, table manners, respect, and other behavior as needed
· Promote the rights of people receiving support, and contribute to an environment that is free of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation


DSP Qualifications:
· Must be 18 or older
· Must have a valid ID and be able to pass a background screening
· Interest in serving others and working with people with disabilities
· Committed to working with a team; strong communication skills
· Ability to problem solve and work independently

Residential Direct Support Professionals

The Direct Support Professionals provide direct support to people through the implementation of the RISE Mission, Vision and Values and in compliance with all regulations and policies.

REPORTS TO: Residential Team Leader
SALARY: Hourly wages  $9.00/hr
LOCATION: Monmouth

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Experience and/or education in the field of developmental disabilities or related field preferred.
Must have a desire and interest in working with people with disabilities or special needs.
Must be at least (18) years of age
Must pass background clearance

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

*Provide assistance to people receiving support through the implementation of the RISE Mission, Vision, and Values.
*Demonstrate respect and promote choice.
*Promote the rights of people receiving support and contribute to an environment that is free of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation.
*Support people in achieving outcomes identified in the person's plan. This includes keeping required documentation and any other prescribed or related task.
*Assist people (as applicable to the person) with the following supports: Daily Living, Hygiene, Intimate Care, Mobility, Accessing their community, Lifting/Transferring, Behavioral supports to include redirecting and/or physically supporting people using approved techniques, Adequate Supervision.
*Act as an appropriate role model and support people in using appropriate language, dress, table manners, respect, and other behavior as needed.
*Ensure that clean and safe environment is maintained.
*Quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS A TEAM MEMBER:

*Must be able to take personal responsibility for actions.

Residential Team Leader- La Grande

RISE, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Team Leader in La Grande, OR. This position involves managing a residential group home that supports 4 individuals who are diagnosed with Developmental Disabilities and who also have high medical needs.

Frequent contact and communication with families, managers, county/state personnel and Direct Support Professionals is necessary. This position includes direct-care responsibilities along with managerial and administrative responsibilities.

The Team Leader role encompasses managing the schedule and employee relations of Direct Support Professionals, grocery shopping, meal planning, creating and implementing chore lists, making sure medications are given properly and on time, as well as any other plans of supports that are needed for these individuals.

Qualifications and Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
• A desire, compassion and interest in working with people with disabilities. Knowledge of medical and other special needs required, at least 1 year experience in the field
• Responsible for leading team meetings and developing plans of support for individuals we serve
• Strong multi-tasking, communication and problem solving skills
• Detail-oriented and able to work under and abide by state and organizational rules and policies
• Able to show professionalism and represent RISE well to community partners
• Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision is a must
• Able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug test, must be 21years of age, having a valid driver’s license and good driving record
